The planet’s future is an important subject! We have to act and think now! This is what the Science Center in Edinburgh, Scotland wants to develop.
Alterface, the benchmark in interactive systems, was selected for the implementation of this ambitious project, in conjunction with Barco. The goal is to make people think in an informal and amusing setting thanks to the first dynamic and interactive dome in Europe.
“The FutureDome” is a totally new interactive experience: it is a mixture of scientific and entertaining sequences, combining special effects, a multimedia show, and games, designed to show that today’s decisions shall have consequences tomorrow.
The visitors are totally immersed in the planet’s futuristic theme (climate, population, environment, biology, etc.) The omnipresent interactivity places the visitors, both individually and collectively, directly at the controls of a spectacle which is so gripping, that they will not forget it for a long time: massive interactions, strong and efficacious visuals done with top of the line equipment, a sound track adaptable to each visitor (language, level of complexity, etc.), professional special effects (the visitors are on turntables, lighting, smoke. etc.), scientific facts stressed by a captivation narration, both original and funny. The show evolves in real time according to the audience’s preferences: the visitors shall see the results of their selections immediately. |
