Presented for the first time in 2006, the ‘Desperados’ Interactive Cinema title is in 2009 available in nine languages and is being played 24 hours a day, as it is now installed all over the world. The landmark 25th installation has now been reached, following the announcement of a Desperados to be located in Héliopolis, near Cairo, Egypt. This will be Alterface’s first installation in Africa.
Alterface is delighted to have notched up its landmark 25th Interactive Cinema, which will be set up, spring 2009, on the continent of Africa. With the opening soon of a 20-seater Desperados in Heliopolis near the Egyptian capital Cairo, our interactive cinemas will have been installed on five continents. There is a neat historical link here too, as it was a Belgian, Baron Edouard Empain, who founded the modern city of Heliopolis in 1905.
Based on the western theme, Desperados was the first title to be developed for this successful attraction. The adventures of the ‘Doc’, looking for deputy sheriffs to help him liberate the town, are played worldwide. Since 2006, ‘Doc’ has learned to speak English, French, Polish, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Arabic!
The 24th Interactive Cinema will be inaugurated, also spring 2009, in France’s Walygator park. This Desperados will seat 33 people and benefit, as with all our latest installations, from the newest developments created for this title licence. The licence has continually evolved since its launch: besides the addition of many new languages, there have been continual improvements to the robustness, IT structures and the content. From a visual standpoint, Alterface’s graphic team has for example enriched the animations and made cultural enhancements whenever this was necessary.
