Alterface offers a radically new solution for Dark Rides, based on a smart vision technique rather than static sensors. With this system, the recognition can be programmed in many different ways – including LED points, colors on a wall, animatronics in general or their specific details, and physical scenery accessories. This is a key development for Interactive Dark Rides. All you need to do is tell the system where is the target, its shape, how many points it will score, and/or what special effect it will trigger when hit.

The infrastructure can manage many players simultaneously, while a group of special (professional-grade) cameras can be installed to capture up to 500 targets. These targets can in turn trigger numerous animatronics or special effects of any kind.

As Alterface is also renowned for expertise in the field of interaction with images, screen-generated targets can display images that will be modified according to the shot. With this kind of interactivity, Dark Rides can match the thrills offered by the very latest video games – allowing planners to decide exactly where and how impacts happen on the scenery. And if players are given special customizable glasses, they can even see images in 3D!
